What is TCA and how does it work?
TCA is Trichloroacetic Acid and it works to dissolve the top layer of the skin and open the epidermis pathways ensuring the treatment is deeply nourishing and effective. This treatment delivers tighter, firmer and younger looking skin, whilst combating the acne and hyperpigmentation.
Sometimes referred to as the ‘Weekend Peel’ – If treatment takes place on a Wednesday, your skin will peel on Friday, Saturday and a little on Sunday, making your skin look younger and healthier by Monday. Post-treatment downtime therefore needs to be considered.
TCA Peel Side-effects
Due to the resurfacing nature of this facial treatment, some or all of the following side-effects could be experienced, and we therefore recommend you allow 7 – 10 days post-treatment downtime.
Stinging, itching-irritation, redness, swelling, tightness, peeling and scabbing of the skin.
You must avoid the following for at least 7 – 10 days after your treatment:
Sweating, exercising, hot baths or showers, scrubbing, picking or rubbing, which could lead to scarring.
We advise that you wear a high SPF face cream for at least 3 days after treatment.
