Exceed Microneedling

Exceeed Microneedling is a a form of collagen induction therapy now available at Mulberries Aesthetics & Beauty. This cosmetic procedure involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles, prompting the skin’s natural healing defences to repair the skin from the inside out.
Microneedling can help improve the quality, appearance and texture of the skin, boosting collagen and elastin production to achieve a firmer, tighter complexion. This is a great solution for ageing skin, stretch marks, scars, wrinkles and other skin concerns, with impressive results.

How does Exceed Microneedling work?

Microneedling uses controlled damage to damage the skin just enough to trigger a healing response. When very fine, single use needles penetrate the skin through the Exceed device, the deeper layers of skin respond with increased cell regeneration. The skin also starts to produce more collagen and elastin (music to our ears), which is what keeps it looking firm, tight, smooth and youthful.
As we age, collagen production slows down. Therefore, microneedling can be thought of as a natural collagen booster for the skin.
Treatment is further improved by the delivery of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to the deeper layers of skin. HA is a building block for healthy skin, ensuring your skin looks and feels healthy and radiant after treatment. HA is often used as an anti-ageing ingredient in dermal fillers and a wide range of skincare products.

    Q. Will it hurt?

    A. Generally, no. Microneedling does not hurt. Exceed Microneedling represents the latest technology in microneedling, which has been enhanced for patient comfort. Before treatment, a numbing cream soothes and prepares the skin. The rapid movement of the needles themselves makes treatment go by quickly. Most clients describe it as a feeling like fine sandpaper on the skin.

    Q. Will I see any immediate results with Exceed microneedling?

    A. Because microneedling works to repair the skin from the inside out, it takes time for full results to develop. However, you may see some immediate improvements in the skin. Often, clients will leave the clinic with a light glow. After about 30 days, you’ll notice more dramatic improvements as collagen and elastin are restored beneath the skin’s surface.

    Q. Am I a good candidate for microneedling?

Almost anyone can safely undergo microneedling. The Exceed Medical Microneedling device offers an adjustable depth, making it appropriate for many different skin types. It’s ideal for addressing mild to moderate damage from wrinkles, scars and enlarged pores. Most clients will benefit from a series of 2-3 treatments spaced at least 4 weeks apart.

    Q. Do I need to prepare for treatment?

    A. Prior to the Microneedling session, please observe the following:

    – No Retin-A products or applications 24 hours prior to your treatment

You may also notice some slight swelling, both are normal and should subside after 1 to 2 hours and will normally diminish within the same day or 24 hours. You may see slight redness after 24 hours but only in minimal areas or spots

    – Occurrence of inflammatory reactions, haematomas, erythema and oedema in the first three to five days after the treatment
